Just Travlin' Thru Life!
Photographs tell stories and so I decided to create this photo diary to document and share some of my travels and experiences. Growing up out in the desolate badlands of eastern Montana, which are ruggedly beautiful in their own way, edged my soul with wanderlust and all I remember is that I couldn't wait to escape. I left school at 16, moved to California and spent several years as a nanny in Santa Cruz and the amazing California Bay Area. In 1988 I moved to Washington and started college in Seattle at UW. I found my beloved Olympus Om1n and fell in love with picture taking. During my sophmore year, I spent a summer in Britain on a work exchange program. I worked in a pub in London and then travelled all over the lovely 'Isles. Scotland was absolutely amazing! In 2004 I went to Prague with my Comparative History of Ideas department and finished my undergraduate degree there. I was so mesmerized by eastern Europe that I stayed for a year and 1/2 teaching English, reading Kafka, drinking the best beer ever, and trying to learn the Czech language. Praha is right in the center of Europe and I ventured into many of the surrounding countries as well as trips to Greece, Turkey, and Scandinavia. When I returned to Seattle I got caught up the strange and exciting world of 'adult entertainment' and spent the next 8 years travelling and working throughout the U.S. Unfortunately, my OM1n was stolen in Amsterdam in 2000 and I have only been shooting digital snapshots since then. I have also been exploring digital video, which is a lot of fun. It is now nearly the end of 2006 and I have recently moved to NYC where I am once again amazed by the people, street life, and the beautiful architecture. I hope to explore the east coast as thouroughly as I did the west while I was there, as well as more of Europe, South America, and Asia. Ciau and Best Wishes! J
